A Salt Cellar (also called a salt) is a historic article of
tableware for holding or dispensing salt. When placed
next to the stove, for the chef, the lids on these items
permit one hand access by a busy cook. Used for Sea
Salt, coarse Kosher Salt, dried herbs or seasonings.
The inside bottoms are rounded to allow the fingers to
pinch to the middle. Wipe clean with a damp cloth if
necessary.
